Ant Control

Ants are a common pest problem in homes and buildings. They enter indoor spaces in search of food or nesting sites and can spread extensively through structural elements. The most common species are the black garden ant, Pharaoh ant, and carpenter ant. Effective control requires professional expertise.

On the subpages, you can read more about different ant species and how to manage them:

  • Black garden ant – The most common ant species in Finland. While it does not damage structures, its presence in kitchens, pantries, or living spaces is unpleasant and a sign that a nest may be located too close to the home.

  • Carpenter ant – The largest ant species in Finland and capable of causing significant structural damage. It does not eat wood but excavates tunnels in it to build nests, which can weaken the structure over time.

  • Pharaoh ant – A heat-loving pest species that nests indoors, especially in apartment buildings and care facilities. These ants travel widely within structures and can form multiple satellite nests, making control particularly challenging.
